our story
BWEL began as a vision in 2017 -- a glimpse of a future -- where established, emerging, and expectant Black women leaders could shine, syngerize, and succeed...together.

We endeavored to create a safe space for the hard conversations, the bright celebrations, and intentional realization of our individual and collective goals.
Founded by Christina Raye, a senior executive in the asset management space, BWEL seeks to be the community we all needed to get where we're going and enjoy the journey along the way.
